Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Pocket Poultry (“we”, “the service”) handles information when you use pocketpoultry.farm and the related API. It matches what the product actually stores and sends. It is not a claim that we never use cookies, sell data, or run ads we do not run.

Who we are

Pocket Poultry is layer-farm management software. Contact: contact@pocketpoultry.farm.

Information we collect

We collect only what you provide or what the app needs to run:

Account: name, email, password (stored as a hash, not in plain text), optional phone number, optional timezone (for 9:00 daily digest email), optional Google account if you link it, passkeys if you add them, last sign-in method, whether you have seen the product tour, and optional last-active time used for service operations.
Farm records: farms (organizations), members and roles, invitations, houses, flocks, egg production, mortality, feed items and use, health records, customers, egg sales, expenses, inventory items (including photos you upload), and in-app notifications.
Technical: session cookies, IP address and user agent on the session where the auth service records them, and email delivery of verification codes, invitations, and optional daily digest PDFs.
Analytics (optional): if you accept analytics cookies, PostHog records page views, product usage, session replays, and client/server errors, linked to your account id and active farm.

How we use it

To create and keep your account signed in
To store and show farm records to people on that farm
To send verification codes and farm invitations
To email an optional 9:00 daily digest PDF when you opt in
To enforce roles (owner, manager, worker, viewer)
To protect the service against abuse (rate limits and similar)
If you accept analytics cookies, to understand how the product is used, replay sessions, and fix errors

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Processors

We use other services to operate Pocket Poultry. They process data only to provide that part of the product:

PostgreSQL hosting for application data
Better Auth for accounts, sessions, organizations, and passkeys
Google, if you choose Sign in with Google
Resend, for verification, invitation, and optional daily digest email
Azure Blob Storage, for inventory images you upload
Optional Better Auth Infrastructure for activity tracking and abuse protection when that integration is enabled
PostHog (US cloud), if you accept analytics cookies, for product analytics, session replay, error tracking, and feature flags

Cookies and local storage

You can change this choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer.

Necessary: Better Auth session cookies so you can stay signed in; a sidebar cookie that remembers whether the farm navigation is expanded. These are required for the app to work.
Preferences (optional): local storage for the last sign-in method you used, and (if you allow it) onboarding wizard progress.
Analytics (optional): PostHog first-party cookies and local storage for anonymous id, session replay, and feature flags. We do not set advertising or third-party marketing cookies.

Sharing

Farm members see records according to their role. We share data with the processors listed above. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention

Account and farm data stay while the account or farm exists. Session cookies expire when the session ends or you sign out. If you want data removed and the product does not already provide that control, email contact@pocketpoultry.farm.

Your choices

Update name and phone from Account
Add or remove Google and passkeys from Account
Leave a farm or change members if your role allows it
Accept or reject optional preference storage and analytics via the cookie banner (Cookie settings in the footer)

Children

The service is for farm operators and their invited team. It is not directed at children.

Changes

We will update this page when the product’s data practices change. The date at the top is the latest revision.
